Ducted air conditioners are the ideal solution for double storey houses.
Ducted air conditioning works by circulating air throughout your home using a system of ducts and vents. An outdoor unit contains the compressor and condenser while the central fan coil unit is located in the roof space.
Everything is connected via the ductwork and discrete ceiling vents control the flow of warm or cool air in each room.

Ducted air conditioning units are easier to install while a new home is being built, but they can also work for existing double storey houses.
The ducts are run vertically from the roof space through specially designed bulkheads or wardrobes and cupboards. They are then framed around and plastered over so they are hidden from view. This provides efficient heating and cooling across both levels.
